Regional cricket teams will be hoping for better weather today when the third round of the CWI Regional U-17 cricket tournament takes place at venues in Central and South Trinidad.

T&T the leaders thus far will come up against Guyana at Gilbert Park in California however given the fact that rain fell all day yesterday and the drainage at Gilbert Park is not up to the international standard the game may start late even if there is no rain today. Rain is also forecasted for today and they will do well to even get in a shortened version. T&T won their first game handsomely against Barbados at Brian Lara Academy but could not go unto the playing field for the second match against Jamaica at the NCC.

Across at the National Cricket Centre (NCC) in Balmain rain is also on the agenda and with the drainage not as excellent as the Brian Lara Academy play today between Windwards and Leewards may also be affected. Windwards won their opening game against Guyana at the NCC and they will be hoping to get some action against the Leewards today. The Leewards won their opening encounter against Jamaica but lost by 68 runs under the Duckworth/Lewis system at Lara Academy.

Although rain was belting down all over the south of T&T on Thursday, there was still play at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy in Tarouba and this is why both Barbados and Jamaica may well expect cricket to be played when they arrive at the venue for their clash today.
