Mora, Nero win Labour Day 20k race

Tonya Nero kept he T&T flag flying when she crossed the finishline first among the women in a god time of one hour, 20 minutes and 13 seconds to win the 35th running of the annual Labour Day Oilfield Workers Trade Union (O.W.T.U) Butler 20K Run from San Fernando to Fyzabad where dozens of unions assembled annually to celebrate the berth of the labour movement in T&T.

Pedro Mora of Venezuela won the men's version behind a time of one hour, nine minutes and eight seconds (1:09.08).

The over 100 runners started at OWTU Headquarters, Paramount Building, Circular Road, San Fernando and took the field to Royal Road, South on San Fernando Bye-Pass, through La Romaine, and at Paria Suites turns left at the newly-opened dual carriageway Solomon Hochoy Extension then turns left on Oropouche Road to Fyzabad ended at the famous Charlie King junction.

The Butler 4.1 K race started in Harris Village and finishes also at Fyzabad Junction.
