Madiba for Friday Evening Lime

Friday, May 4, 2018

There will be a competitive eight-race programme this afternoon at Santa Rosa Park, Arima. It’s the Arima Race Club’s Day 14 meeting and its dubbed the Friday Evening Lime.

The feature event will be for Imported Three-Year-Olds and Over Maidens and West Indian Bred Three-Year- Olds and Over Horses Rated 75-50 over for a distance of 1,100 metres on the turf track and the Terrance Thomas trained Madiba can return to winning ways at the main expense of Mafia Man and Maha Raja.

The $41,225 purse event has attracted eleven runners with the Glen Mohammed trained Crown The King expected to sent of as favourite, but he may find it difficult to transfer his form to the grass.

The Terrance Thomas trained Madiba is my selection to get back on the winning trail for Derron Khelawan. He has been campaigning with better and this looks like a drop in class.

Also expected to go well is the John Leotaud trained Maha Raja which raced prominently last time out and could go very close.

Harold Chadee string is in fine form and he could make my selection run hard to the finish.

Post time for the first event on today is 1:05 pm.
