The barge and ferry being rented by the Government to transport cargo between Trinidad and Tobago will cost taxpayers US$22,000 a day, Works and Transport Minister Rohan Sinanan said yesterday.

Unipet re-opens in Cumuto
Dexter Riley, CEO of Unipet, has announced the re-opening of the Cumuto Service Station, which has been refurbished and brought in line with other double filter outfitted Unipet Stations.
This re-opening came in response to requests from several villagers who have been experiencing difficulties to access regular supplies of gasoline over the past months.
Riley said: “While Unipet continues to experience losses in its ongoing operations, I am optimistic that the situation is temporary and that rural communities like Cumuto will benefit from our efforts to keep these stations open.”
